UPSC Preparation: How Do Toppers Plan Their Strategy?

Most UPSC toppers don’t follow complicated strategies. They usually begin by understanding the syllabus and Previous Year Questions, and then build a simple, realistic study plan around them.

Their preparation is structured in phases, starting with conceptual clarity through basic books, followed by revision, PYQ practice, and answer writing. Instead of collecting many resources, they stick to limited sources and revise them multiple times.

What really makes the difference is consistency and tracking progress, not the number of hours studied or the number of books used.
