How to Deal with Comparison and Self-Doubt?

Comparison is common in UPSC preparation because everyone seems to be studying different books, following different strategies, or progressing at a different pace. But preparation becomes stressful when you start measuring your journey against someone else’s timeline.

UPSC is a long exam cycle, and consistency in your own plan matters more than how others are preparing. Focusing on your daily targets, syllabus coverage, and gradual improvement helps shift attention from others to your own progress.

When preparation is structured and you can see your own growth over time, comparison naturally loses its importance.
