Preparing for Prelims always brings up one big question: how many mock test attempts are actually enough? The honest answer is this — it’s not about the number, it’s about the quality of each mock test you attempt.

For most serious aspirants, 25–40 full-length test papers before the exam is a practical range. This gives you enough exposure to different question patterns, difficulty levels, and traps. But here’s what really matters: every test should be followed by deep analysis. Spend at least 2–3 hours reviewing mistakes, identifying weak areas, and understanding why you got questions wrong.
In the last 60–75 days before Prelims, aim for 2–3 test papers per week along with revision. Closer to the exam, simulate real exam conditions to improve time management and decision-making under pressure.
So don’t chase numbers blindly. A well-analysed 30 test attempts will help you more than 60 poorly reviewed ones. Focus on learning, not just attempting.
