There’s no fixed number of hours that guarantees success in UPSC preparation. For most aspirants, 6–8 focused hours of study daily is more than enough when the time is planned well and used consistently.

What matters more than hours is whether you’re studying the syllabus systematically, revising regularly, and practicing PYQs and answer writing. Studying for long hours without direction often leads to burnout and confusion.
In the long run, consistency and clarity beat long, irregular study days.
