UPSC Preparation: How to Handle Fear of Uncertainty

Uncertainty is a natural part of UPSC preparation because results take time and outcomes aren’t always predictable. The fear usually grows when preparation feels unstructured or when you’re unsure whether you’re studying the right things.

Focusing on what you can control, like daily targets, syllabus coverage, PYQ practice, and revision, helps reduce that uncertainty. When preparation becomes structured and progress is visible, the fear slowly becomes more manageable.

You may not control the result, but you can control the direction and consistency of your preparation.
