How to Recover After Failing Prelims or Mains?

Failing a stage of the exam is difficult, but it can also give you clear feedback about what needs to change. The first step is to take a short break, process the result, and then honestly analyze where your preparation fell short.

If it was Prelims, focus on strengthening concepts, revision, and PYQ practice. If it was Mains, pay more attention to answer writing, structure, and time management. Treat the previous attempt as data, not as a judgment of your capability.

Many successful candidates clear the exam after one or more setbacks. The difference usually comes from learning from the attempt and preparing with better clarity and direction the next time.
